The Pipes of Christmas is proud to announce that Lindsay O’Donovan will serve as the 2024 Pipes of Christmas Honorary Chair. The role of Honorary Chair is given to leaders in the arts, cultural, or charitable community in recognition of shared partnership, goals, and values.

Ms. O’Donovan is the widow of Brian O’Donovan, who hosted the beloved Christmas performance “A Celtic Sojourn” for Boston audiences for more than 20 years. The Pipes of Christmas’ inaugural Boston performance will be held in his memory on December 12, 2024.

“The Pipes of Christmas has been a staple in New York and New Jersey, and I know Brian would be deeply touched to see others picking up the torch, ensuring that the vibrant sounds of Celtic heritage continue to fill our hearts and halls,” said Ms. O’Donovan. “As Brian was apt to say, ‘Won’t you join us?’”

Brady Brim-DeForest of Balvaird Castle helped to spearhead the effort to bring the Pipes of Christmas to Boston and will serve as the Founding Patron for the Boston performance.

We thank Ms. O’Donovan and Mr. Brim-DeForest for their leadership and for joining us to celebrate the 2024 Pipes of Christmas!

About “The Pipes of Christmas”

Since its debut 26 years ago in 1999, The Pipes of Christmas has played to standing-room-only audiences. Now a cherished holiday event, the concert gives audiences a stirring and reverent celebration of the Christmas season and the Celtic spirit. Audience-goers return year after year to experience the program, many reporting that the Pipes of Christmas has become part of their family’s annual Christmas tradition.

2024 performances will be held in Boston, MA on December 12, New York City on December 14, and Summit, NJ on December 15. A webcast of this year’s concert highlights will also be available to stream worldwide from December 20-31.

The concert has been lavished with critical acclaim. In his review for Classical New Jersey Magazine, Paul Somers wrote, “The whole evening was constructed to introduce gem after gem and still have a finale which raised the roof. In short, it was like a well-constructed fireworks show on the Glorious Fourth.” The Westfield Leader described the concert as “a unique sound of power and glory nowhere else to be found.”
