In advance of its 28th annual Pipes of Christmas fundraiser concert, the Learned Kindred of Currie has launched a fundraising campaign to cover the event’s production costs for performances spanning three cities as well as a digital webcast.

The campaign, which has a base goal of $20,000, will ensure that all proceeds from the concert’s ticket sales can be used to support the Kindred’s extensive cultural programs and initiatives.

The Pipes of Christmas: A festival for the soul

For nearly three decades, The Pipes of Christmas has brought the joy and beauty of Celtic Christmas traditions to life for the holidays. The beloved concert brings together world-class musicians, soloists, and performers from across America and the UK for a stirring celebration of the Christmas season and the Celtic spirit.

Four live performances will be held over two weekends in Boston, New York City, and Summit NJ between December 10-13. A webcast of this year’s concert highlights will also be available to stream worldwide from December 18-31.

The concert features traditional Celtic Christmas music alongside newly commissioned works performed on bagpipes, brass, strings, harp, and organ. Traditionally, part of the program is conducted in Gaelic, connecting nearly 2,000 annual attendees to rich and sacred Scottish traditions.

A fundraiser for Scottish heritage and the arts

The concert is hosted by the Learned Kindred of Currie, a non-profit cultural and educational organization dedicated to preserving and promoting Scottish and Highland heritage and the arts. As its primary fundraiser, the Pipes of Christmas enables the organization’s continued efforts to support the global Scottish community.

The impact of this beloved event includes:

  • 200+ scholarships awarded to emerging Celtic artists and scholars
  • 25 new artistic works commissioned and premiered
  • 5 heritage sites preserved and commemorated
  • 50+ community organizations supported through outreach

Donor rewards offered to all supporters and patrons

As a way of thanking donors for their generosity:

  • All donors will receive first access to the concert’s ticket sales (two weeks before doors open to the public)
  • Donors who give over $250 also receive recognition by name as Pipes of Christmas Patrons on our website, email newsletters, print and digital programs, and webcast

All gifts made in the US are entirely tax deductible and help to ensure that this iconic Christmas tradition continues for many years to come. Donations can be made to the fundraising campaign here.

About “The Pipes of Christmas”

Since its debut 28 years ago in 1999, The Pipes of Christmas has played to standing-room-only audiences. Now a cherished holiday event, the concert gives audiences a stirring and reverent celebration of the Christmas season and the Celtic spirit. Audience-goers return year after year to experience the program, many reporting that the Pipes of Christmas has become part of their family’s annual Christmas tradition.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the concert premiering in New York City and the third year since opening in Boston. Commenting on the 2026 program, executive producer Robert Currie said, “What an incredible year to be Scottish in Boston. We have the great fortune to have just celebrated the remarkable impact of Scotland’s Tartan Army through World Cup soccer.”

“Indeed we are thrilled to announce that the Hon. Jaqueline McLaren, Lord Provost for the City of Glasgow has accepted our invitation to join us as an Honorary Chair for the concert. We anticipate she will be joined by Boston mayor Michelle Wu, Massachusetts governor Maura Healy, and senior representatives from the Scottish Government in Washington, DC. Jason Waddleton, proprietor of the Haven, Boston’s Scottish Pub and Restaurant, rounds out the 2026 Host Committee.”

The 2026 performances will be held in Boston, MA on December 10, New York City on December 12, and Summit, NJ on December 13. A webcast of this year’s concert highlights will also be available to stream worldwide from December 18-31.
