Currie was a living representation of one of the many different piping styles that existed in Cape Breton among the highland immigrants and their descendants \u2013 styles that have disappeared from the piping landscape of Cape Breton.<\/span><\/p>\n[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”1_3″ _builder_version=”4.23″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.27.0″ _module_preset=”default” header_4_text_color=”#2F2D2B” custom_margin=”||10px||false|false” global_colors_info=”{}”]\n Administered by the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (formerly the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama) in Glasgow, Scotland, the scholarship honors the memory of the founder of the original Clan Currie Society in Glasgow, Scotland in 1959.<\/span><\/p>\n[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”1_3″ _builder_version=”4.23″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.27.0″ _module_preset=”default” header_4_text_color=”#2F2D2B” custom_margin=”||10px||false|false” global_colors_info=”{}”]\n Administered by the National Piping Centre of Glasgow, Scotland, the scholarship pays tribute to the founder of the R.P. Blandford & Son Pipe Band of Redlands, CA and creator of the original \u201cPipes of Christmas\u201d studio recording which became the foundation for the annual Clan Currie Society concerts.<\/span><\/p>\n[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row column_structure=”1_3,1_3,1_3″ use_custom_gutter=”on” gutter_width=”3″ make_equal=”on” _builder_version=”4.23″ _module_preset=”default” custom_padding=”0px||50px||false|false” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”1_3″ _builder_version=”4.23″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.27.0″ _module_preset=”default” header_4_text_color=”#2F2D2B” custom_margin=”||10px||false|false” custom_padding=”||||false|false” global_colors_info=”{}”]\n Administered for the Clan Currie Society by Lyon College of Batesville, AR. The scholarship honors the memory of Private Bill Millin, the famed D-Day bagpiper for played for his troops during the British landing at Sword Beach on June 6, 1944. In the year of his death, the Pipes of Christmas performed a solemn and moving tribute to Millin.<\/span><\/p>\n[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”1_3″ _builder_version=”4.23″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.27.0″ _module_preset=”default” header_4_text_color=”#2F2D2B” custom_margin=”||10px||false|false” custom_padding=”||||false|false” global_colors_info=”{}”]\n Administered by the Fine Arts faculty of Summit High School in Summit, NJ (our concert\u2019s home town), the scholarship remembers the late Carol Hassert. Edinburgh born, Hassert was a beloved member of the Summit Parents Music Association. This scholarship honours her years of devotion to celebrating the arts.<\/span><\/p>\n[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”1_3″ _builder_version=”4.23″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.27.0″ _module_preset=”default” header_4_text_color=”#2F2D2B” custom_margin=”||10px||false|false” global_colors_info=”{}”]\n Administered by Edinburgh Napier University, the scholarship has been earmarked for music students studying composition of Traditional Scottish Music.
