Come to Our Pre-Christmas Concert and Ceilidh – Sept. 24, 2010
Pick up your Pipes tickets while enjoying our very special Scottish evening
Join “Pipes of Christmas” favorites Local Hero as they perform some of Scotland’s loveliest music in an evening of music, dance, fine spirits and fun. Our Pre-Christmas Concert and Ceilidh takes place on Friday, September 24 from 7 – 11PM in the Grand Lobby of the Westy self storage facility located at 15 River Road in Chatham, NJ. Admission is $20 per person and tickets will be available at the door.

Concertgoers will be treated to a complimentary whisky tasting featuring Oban and Cardhu single malt scotch whiskies. As an added bonus, there will be a Silent Auction to help our guests get a jump start on their holiday shopping.
Items up for bid include a private scotch tasting event in your home led by one of the brand ambassadors from the Classic Malts of Scotland, an autographed copy of Sir Sean Connery’s autobiography entitled, “Being a Scot,” and the services of your own personal bagpiper for a one hour performance at the event of your choice (wedding, religious service, party, etc.). If you have an item you’d like to contribute to our auction (sports or theater tickets, gift baskets, etc.) please let us know so we can add them to the list.

Your Chance to be Front Row Center
All attendees will be entered into a raffle to receive four (4) front row seats to one of our three concerts. One set of four tickets will be raffled for each performance. Extra raffle tickets may be purchased to increase your chances.
Tickets will also be on sale for the 2010 concerts as well so even if you don’t win one of our raffles, you can still go home with tickets in hand. As a reminder, the 2010 Pipes of Christmas will be held on Saturday, December 18 in Summit, NJ at 2 and 8PM and on Sunday, December 19 in New York City at 2:30 PM.
About Local Hero
Local Hero, featuring champion fiddler, Paul Woodiel, flute and bagpipe virtuoso, Christopher Layer and pianist, Susie Petrov has been regaling audiences with their performances of the traditional music of Scotland. Dancers and listeners alike have thrilled to their selections that range from the thoughtful and lyrical to the vigorous and toe-tapping melodies that make up the Scottish idiom.

Paul, an unabashed purveyor of all violin styles, most recently performed in the Broadway hit, “West Side Story.” He has played for popular artists including a recent week with Sting, and together with Christopher Layer anchors the lineup of the Moab Music Festival. Susie has been researching, playing and teaching Scottish music for nigh on to 30 years and met Paul in 1988.
Since then, Local Hero has performed for highland balls, concerts and festivals in the USA, Canada and Scotland. Joining Local Hero will be special guest artist Reinmar Seidler, cellist.
