The Pipes of Christmas is proud to announce that Amanda Block, founder of GRACE community network, and Russell Dalgleish, chair of the Scottish Business Network, have been named the 2022 Pipes of Christmas Honorary Chairs.
Ms. Block leads GRACE, a food pantry and community network in Summit, New Jersey that meets community needs with community resources to enable the good health and success of our vulnerable and underserved neighbors. Concert-goers attending the Summit performance of the Pipes of Christmas may bring food cupboard donations for GRACE to the performance.
“It is an unexpected joy for which I am most grateful to serve as Honorary Chair for this esteemed event,” said Ms. Block. “Pipes of Christmas is a Summit institution where the most dedicated musicians and community members converge to create holiday magic, delight, and respite under Commander Currie’s inspiring vision. We see a kindred spirit and partner in nourishing the people of Summit in the Pipes of Christmas. I look forward to this masterful experience.”
Mr. Dalgleish is an entrepreneur, speaker, and executive coach. As founding chair of the Scottish Business Network, he is dedicated to helping Scottish-based companies and organizations to develop and grow through the utilization of the Scottish business diaspora.
“I am truly humbled to take on the role of Honorary Chair for the 2022 Annual Pipes of Christmas Concert,” said Mr. Dalgleish. “We share a common goal to promote all that is good about Scotland and a key component for me is fellowship. This friendly association of peoples with a common interest, in our case Scotland, is today more often given the name diaspora but for me will always be family. We are a single family of Scots, spread across the globe but at heart, we all remain ‘Jock Tamson’s Bairns’.”
We thank Ms. Block and Mr. Dalgleish for their leadership in our communities, and for joining us to celebrate the 2022 Pipes of Christmas as our Honorary Chairs!

About “The Pipes of Christmas”
Since its debut in 1999, The Pipes of Christmas has played to standing-room-only audiences. Now a cherished holiday event, the concert gives audiences a stirring and reverent celebration of the Christmas season and the Celtic spirit. Audience-goers return year after year to experience the program, many reporting that the Pipes of Christmas has become part of their family’s annual Christmas tradition.
The concert has been lavished with critical acclaim. In his review for Classical New Jersey Magazine, Paul Somers wrote, “The whole evening was constructed to introduce gem after gem and still have a finale which raised the roof. In short, it was like a well-constructed fireworks show on the Glorious Fourth.” The Westfield Leader described the concert as “a unique sound of power and glory nowhere else to be found.”
