“Pipes of Christmas” Performers to Share in the Holiday Spirit at 25th Annual Miracle on Madison Avenue
For the sixth year in a row, the Pipes of Christmas will participate in “Miracle on Madison Avenue”, the annual charity shopping event which benefits the NY Children’s Aid Society. The annual holiday fundraiser brings together leading luxury retailers, restaurants, galleries and one great Celtic Christmas concert on Madison Avenue, returns on Sunday, December 4, 2011 from noon to 5PM.
The Pipes of Christmas will offer a preview performance at the 6th Annual Miracle on Madison fundraiser for the Children’s Aid Society of NY
Approximately 75 participating retailers on Madison Avenue between 57 and 86 Streets will donate 20 percent of the day’s sales to The Children’s Aid Society’s health care programs, which provide much needed care to children who might not otherwise get basic medical attention.
According to Pipes producer, Robert Currie, “We were thrilled when the Children’s Aid Society asked us back to participate in the Miracle on Madison event. Now that that the Pipes of Christmas has established itself as a NYC Christmas tradition, we feel compelled to continue to contribute to the greater good of the city. We couldn’t think of a better cause during the holidays than the well-being of children. We were honored to have played even a small role in helping to raise the much-needed funds for children’s health care programs.”
Past Miracle on Madison programs have raised in excess of $250,000 thanks to the generosity of participating retailers. One hundred percent of the net proceeds of Miracle benefit the health care programs of Children’s Aid. The Children’s Aid Society provides vital health services to underserved children – children that are most often not connected to primary physicians and are therefore not getting preventive care, the most important determinant of good health. Patients receive both acute and preventive treatment, medical, dental and mental health care, counseling by a health educator, ophthalmology – optometry and more.
